Speaker: Dr Jan Sinclair Paediatric Allergist and Paediatrician
Jan completed medical school and paediatric training in Auckland before undertaking a fellowship in Paediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Texas Children’s hospital in Houston. She returned to the Starship service in 1997, initially as sole specialist for a 10 year stint. With time that service has expanded to 4 specialists and a nurse specialist, with the practice of allergy now a significant component of paediatric clinics all around New Zealand. Jan was pivotal in establishing the Paediatric Allergy SIG, which had its first meeting in 2006 with 6 paediatricians and 2 nurses in attendance. She has played an active role within the College of Physicians and also served on ASCIA council for a number of years. Retirement is beckoning, but not yet!
