Prescribing Laxatives and Anti-diarrhoeals

Join us for an engaging webinar exploring prescribing of Laxatives and Anti-diarrhoeas with Pharmacist, Amber Young. The products that dietitians can prescribe has been expanded to include laxatives and anti-diarrhoeals. Amber will take us through an overview of the mechanisms of actions, contra-indications, cautions, side-effects and dosing.
   

Dr Amber Young (Taranaki iwi) is a pharmacist and an emerging researcher. Her research interests include immunisation uptake, Maori health, health equity, and quality use of medicines.

Amber studied pharmacy at the University of Otago and worked in pharmacy practice for many years in NZ and the UK before returning to Dunedin to work at the New Zealand Formulary and complete her PhD at the School of Pharmacy.

Amber’s PhD was about investigating the provision of medicines information to patients and how this could be improved. Amber has two children aged 11 and 10 and is a lecturer in clinical pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago.
