Roslyn Norrie works as a DHB community dietitian throughout Northland supporting a diverse and mainly rural population who require enteral and, or parenteral nutrition, her latest career-step after decades spent in other DHBs working mainly in clinical or foodservice management. That was interrupted by nine years of mainly food development roles in the UK corporate sector. Roslyn has remained engaged with Dietitians NZ throughout her career. She says “Work life in the 21st Century is all about values, and networking. Dietitians New Zealand is our professional base for us to work together to develop relevant new ways to meet people’s needs”. In Northland she has noted gaping disparities in both health and wealth, so now she is keen to be a voice for dietitians based in rural New Zealand.
