Dietitian Team Leader - Diabetes
Based at North Shore Hospital
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic dietitian to lead our team of diabetes dietitians.
The Diabetes Service provides support in an outpatient setting for adults with Type 1 (including insulin pump therapy), Type 2 and gestational diabetes. The team provides satellite clinics, facilitates group sessions and advises primary care practitioners in the nutritional management of diabetes.
This exciting, full time position involves teaching and ideally leading the team of educators delivering an internationally accredited education programme for people with Type 1 diabetes, DAFNE, which was first implemented in New Zealand by Waitemata DHB diabetes centre.
The service is implementing a number of new initiatives and requires a highly motivated, independent practitioner, who is an outstanding communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly with any individual or group and be effective in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in, and in some cases, lead the implementation of new initiatives, research projects, quality audits and other service developments in association with the Diabetes Service MDT, the Awhina Clinical Innovation Centre in Nutrition and Feeding and Dietitians working within the wider DHB supporting patients with Chronic Care needs. You will also be involved in student training.
